Elevate Your Kitchen with Colour in 2022
8th June 2022
While the minimalist kitchen, with its clean lines and gleaming white surfaces, may never go out of fashion, we are receiving more requests than ever from clients for bold colour schemes in our kitchen designs.
From patterned wall, floor and splashback tiles, to unusual metal finishes and trims, our clients are choosing to express themselves using colour in their interior design choices.
More than simple aesthetics, colour has a huge impact on how we feel, so incorporating uplifting hues to our home – in particular to the kitchen: the very heart of the home, can subconsciously lift the mood, energise and even encourage productivity.
Whether you are looking to renovate your kitchen completely, or simply update it, the easiest way to bring a pop of colour into the room is through your kitchen cabinetry. Where colour was once an accent in the kitchen, it has become the main event, covering a larger surface area to create a greater impact.
Darker heritage shades and deep jewelled colours remain firm favourites, but our clients are becoming more experimental with bolder colourways for feature units or islands to create an opulent design statement.
There is such a vast array of colours to choose from these days. Luckily, many timeless features of a kitchen such as stone, marble or solid wood worktops and shelving will pair with almost any colour – so you can play around with ideas until you find the perfect match.
Take some time over selecting the right colour scheme - this is not a decision that should be made on impulse. First, think about what you are trying to achieve with the restyle. Are you redecorating with a homely and relaxed, or cool and sophisticated vibe in mind? Maybe you’re hoping to bring a sense of fun and quirkiness into your kitchen design? A clever use of colour can accomplish all of the above and more. Our design team are here to help you with this and will create mood boards to assist you with the decision.
Bespoke and hand-made kitchen furniture can be hand-painted in any colour of your choosing. Our German own-brand manufacturer has an extensive RAL colour chart, so our clients are never limited. At Parker Kitchens, our design team love nothing more than getting their creative juices flowing and working together with our clients to create their ideal home spaces.
